Last Surviving Wonder of The Ancient World

It has been really long since I last update my blog. Did my Dubai-Cairo trip last month and I have been dying to blog about it cos it is one of the best trips I had with great company. We spent an awesome 8 days together sightseeing, eating, drinking and smoking shisha.



On the first night in Cairo, we watched this Sound & Light show that talks about the history of pharaohs. The show is real boring and I did not understand the story at all. Instead, I was captivated by the amazing night sky that were filled with stars. So many star and it was so pretty!

The next day we went on our tour to visit the pyramids and we stopped by at the side of the Nile River to take photos.This is the longest river in the world and it was also where one of the oldest civilizations in the world began at the banks of the river.

PYRAMID! It is a must-see when you come to Egypt!



That is the entrance to the Great Pyramid of Giza which is also known as the Pyramid of Khufu.



The largest Pyramid is built as a tomb for Khufu and the two other pyramids of descending size are built by Khufu's son, Khafre (Chephren), and grandson Menkure (Mykerinos). The three smaller pyramids are built for Khufu's wives.



We entered one of the three smaller pyramids.



That is that bury chamber for the Queen.

This friendly old lady even gave Val a peck on her cheek.

Posing for picture again. Behind us is the Pyramid of Khafre which is built for the son of Khufu. It is the second largest pyramid of the ancient Egyptian Pyramids of Giza.



We tried to do some jumpshots. Woah! I jumped super high!

Another thing you must do when you are in Egypt is to take CAMEL RIDE!



The rest tried horse riding instead.

We were on our own and I even tried to ride the camel around without the guides.

Next is to see the Great Sphinx of Giza. The Sphinx has the facial features of a man and the body of a lion. It was built by pharaoh Khafre as a guardian figure to protect the tomb of the Khafre by warding off evil spirits.



You can pay a local kid at about US$1 to help you take cheeky shots of you with the Sphinx. The kids are really skilled in taking such photos and they know how to use all the different type of cameras.

AND YEAH, the PYRAMID OF GIZA, the only surviving wonder of the Seven Wonders of The Ancient World CONQUERED! :)
